In a dynamic event the bound loop feature keeps the loop on the strong spine of the carabiner, away from accidentally riding up over the plate of the pulley. Same strength as a typical prusik with a double fisherman's knot. Short and long prusiks will be different colors

The difference in diameter between the main line and your Prusik loop diameter should follow the general rule of a 60-80% ratio. 8mm cord is best suited for 1/2"" rope.
